The Annual Fun Fourth Festival is recognized as a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism society and an Outstanding Event by Celebration NC Foundation. The Fun Fourth Festival is produced by Grassroots Productions Limited. This local non-profit corporation focuses on charitable and educational activities which foster interest in local history and events in Guilford County. An advisory board of local business and civic leaders oversees the planning of each event for this 501(c)3 organization. The Fun Fourth Festival has been presented annually since 1975 as a community celebration of Independence Day for Guilford County and the Piedmont Triad. The festival is held in the Cultural District of Downtown Greensboro and at Grimsley High School.

Festival Rules

For safety reasons, NO pets, bicycles, skates or skateboards are allowed at any Fun Fourth events. No coolers or glass containers are allowed in the Festival area.

Parking & Transportation

FREE PARKING for the Street Festival is available at Bellemeade Deck - Greene & Bellemeade, Greene St. Deck - Greene & Washington, Church St. Deck - Church north of Friendly and many downtown surface lots -- or go green and take the bus. Check out all the schedule and route information.

Tokens/Tickets

Tokens are used to purchase beer and wine in the Beer Garden for the Block Party and Street Festival and are available for sale at the Token Tent in the Beer Garden. Each token is valued by beverage. Tickets are used for all amusements at the Street Festival and are available at the Ticket Tent in the Rides Area. Amusements range from $2-$6. NO REFUNDS on tokens or tickets.

Food and non-alcoholic beverage sales are CASH only and range from $2-$8 at the Block Party and Street Festival. Food and beverage sales at the Pops Concert & Fireworks are CASH only and operated by the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.

Weather

In case of inclement weather during the Street Festival, for safety, please take shelter in the interior lower level of the nearest parking deck. Programming will resume as soon as the weather permits.

Vending

Commercial Vending is by invitation only. To be considered for vending, please fill out the appropriate form on the Applications page. Submission of the form does not guarantee entry as a Festival vendor.

Entertainers

If you are interested in being an entertainer at Fun Fourth, please fill out the online Performer Database Form, and it will be submitted to the Fun Fourth Entertainment Committee.
